Club Brugge have announced a new transfer for next season. The Swedish left back Fredrik Stenman is joining the club from Groningen for 3 seasons. He played for Leverkussen and Djurgarden. Fantastic transfer in my opinion.
No one even had a clue they were chasing him. Superb job by the new board.

Club Brugge announced a 2nd transfer for next season. Belgian striker Bjorn Vleminckx signed a contract for 5 years. He's playing at NEC Nijmegen in Holland right now and is Dutch topscorer with 18 goals. Club pay's around 3,3 million for him. A hard working striker who never gives up, Club is going back to the old values they were to be scared of. Great signing again.
Stenman and Vleminckx for 3,3 million, good job. Stenman is free.

Dirar, the one who misbehaved during the game couple weeks ago, is training in the A-squad again. Double feeling about it. He's such a great player, we're gonna need him in the play offs. But on the other hand was what he did very bad. Last chance I guess...
Meanwhile our Ivan Perisic is being haunted by Monaco, Tottenham, Dortmund... Dortmund is willing to pay us 6 million. I'm afraid we gonna have to let him go.

6 million euro is big money for a club like OB, and I guess it is for yours as well? We were once hoping to cash in more or less 6 million for Utaka, but a lot has happened to the market since then

Indeed. It would be nice to cash a lot of money again, been a long time here. Some years ago we paid 4 million for a Belgian leftwinger, but he nearly played in the years he was here and we had to let him go for about 750.000 euro. Our striker Sterchélé cost us 3 million and then he unfortunatley died in a car crash in 2008. Nothing you can do about it off course but in a way it's 'wasted money'. So did we pay 3 million for Akpala too and he isn't bringing what's expected. Let's hope he can still turn things around.
Years ago we did sell players for lot of money like Stanic who went to Parma, Okon who went to Lazio, Simons to PSV for 5 million, Addo to PSV for 5 million.

By the way, this is a little movie about the tribute to our striker Sterchélé. He died in a car crash on the 8th of May, a Thursday night in 2008. The upcoming Saturday Club had to play at home to Westerlo. It was a very hard game to witness... Maybe these images give an impression about the whole atmosphere around the game.

How was today's fame? I was watching Club Brugge - Anderlecht at the same time. Club started good in the play offs. Last week we played 1-1 in Gent, today we beat Anderlecht 3-0. Current standing:

1. RC Genk 35
2. Anderlecht 33
3. Standard 31
4. Club Brugge 31
5. AA Gent 31
6. Lokeren 26

It's all open again. Next week we play Lokeren at home. 3 days later we visit Genk. COME ON!!!!!

Brøndby had Krphn-Dehli sent off after 27 minutes, but everyone agrees he shouldn't have. A few minutes later Brøndby scores (partly due to a keeper-failuere), but we had a quick equaliser. Hereafter we forced back Brøndby and they just crowded their own penaltyzone, leaving the possesion to us, due to them being only 10 on the pitch.

Sadly we couldn't profit from all this possesion and the game ended 1-1. We should have taken advantage of having so much possesion and won the game, but seing they had a player sent off who shouldn't have, one can argue that a tie was a fair result.

So status qou between Brøndby and us, as FC Midtjylland awaits in the horizon in what is set to be yet another "battle of the silver medal", but Midtjylland had their first match this spring postponed, and has to play the postponed match today, leaving them with 3 games in a week, and us with the normal 2 games in a week, we hope to meet up with a somewhat tired Midtjylland-squad in Herning, come monday

Even though the play offs are turning out to be great for us, most of the supporters in Belgium want to get rid of it. The system is just not right.

You're 16 teams in top flight, making it 30 games in a season - isn't that enough? if it isn't, then expand to 18 teams and settle for 34 games

We're playing games, which is such a crappy system - unfair in so many ways

Well indeed. It's always been 18 teams until last season when they started with the play off system. 34 games and over.

Now it's 16 teams, 30 games. Top 6 play play off 1 (1 and 2 go Champions League, 3 Europa League).
Number 7 to 14 play Play off 2, this means 2 groups of 4 teams are made and the winners of each group play each other for another Europa League ticket. So you can end 14th but still play in Europe. And to make it completely ridiculous, nummer 15 and 16 play each other 5 times to decide who relegates. What a load of crap you must think :D

It's like the European Cups too. I prefer 1 team from each country in the Champions League. And back to the old Uefa Cup and Cup Winners Cup. But it's all about the money now, unfortunately.
