In the new year, we will open the doors for the first time to a new international academy tournament in Odense, organized in partnership with Manchester United and national team player Christian Eriksen, who played at the academy here as a child.

Several clubs have already confirmed their participation as we host the tournament from January 19th to January 21st at the pitches in Ådalen, Odense.

- We aim to create a tournament that can potentially grow into a major event, attracting some of the biggest clubs in Europe and around the world," says Tonny Hermansen, the club's academy director, adding:

- We see a trend where most international tournaments take place during the spring and summer, so we believe there's a market for a tournament that teams can participate in during their winter preparations.

This isn't the first time OB has invited clubs to a tournament in Odense. Previously, we successfully hosted the U19 Kai Thor Cup.

Therefore, the academy director looks forward to starting a new international tournament with the support of one of the biggest player names in Europe, who has a history at Ådalen:

- We are thrilled that Christian Eriksen has chosen to lend his name to the tournament, and with him, we hope to create a superb tournament with a strong brand. We also hope that his connection to the club will help attract top-tier clubs.

World-renowned star endorses the tournament by using his name
Christian Eriksen grew up on the football fields of Funen, and before embarking on his international journey that has now led him to Manchester United, he played at the Academy here at the club.

Therefore, it was a natural opportunity for him to become part of a new tournament that can help put the club on the football map:

- OB is a club that means a lot to me, as I spent my time at the Academy here. So, it was an obvious chance to give something back, and with this tournament, we can showcase the excellent work being done for talent development in Ådalen," says Christian Eriksen.

The tournament will be for U19 and U17 teams.
